About This Year’s Show
The Saturday afternoon performance opens our 2025 production, bringing a Wicked-inspired, Emerald City twist to this year’s Dance-Along Nutcracker®. Blending Broadway-style humor, colorful characters, and interactive dance-along moments, this year’s story remixes classic Nutcracker magic with playful holiday mischief. With live music performed by the San Francisco Pride Band, this family-friendly holiday show offers laughter, vibrant staging, and plenty of chances for audiences of all ages to join the fun.
At the Stahlbaums’ Annual Holiday Party, Uncle Drosselmeyer shares a tale about a legendary School for Holiday Magic — ruled by Madam Sugarplum and the Great and Powerful Nutcracker. When Mac, a new student with unusual rat-like features, arrives on campus, he must work with his bubbly dormmate Ross to save both the school and the holidays.
This year’s production includes music from The Nutcracker, Wicked, The Wizard of Oz, and The Wiz. Combined with dance-along cues, humor, and theatrical storytelling, this unique Bay Area tradition offers fun for all ages. Learn more at Dance-Along-Nutcracker.org.

About Dance-Along Nutcracker
Dance-Along Nutcracker® is San Francisco’s joyful, interactive holiday show where live music, theatre, and playful audience participation come together for a family-friendly celebration.
Produced by the San Francisco Pride Band — the Official Band of San Francisco — Dance-Along Nutcracker blends Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker Suite with Broadway, pop, movie, and contemporary favorites. Each year, the 75-piece band performs an all-new musical theatre storyline filled with big characters, humor, choreographed dance numbers, and plenty of chances for the audience to join the fun.
