Twenty years ago at SF Pride I was working at the Olivia booth which happened to be adjacent to the San Francisco Pride Band’s booth. I was SO excited to see the uniforms the instruments, and band members, I put my name on their list. When I attended my first rehearsal I felt so accepted and supported as a person and musician — instant family! I’ve played trumpet most of my life, and after a 14-year hiatus the Band inspired me to recommit to my passion for music.
The Band has led to many opportunities for me. I currently play with multiple community groups ranging from orchestra to jazz. One of my great joys is inspiring others to pick up their instruments. In my spare time I enjoy helping others, enjoying good food, playing music with friends, and walking dogs.
