I started playing the French horn in the middle school band growing up in Cle Elum, Washington. I joined the Band with my husband, Adam, right after we moved to the Bay Area in 2007.
Being a member of the Band has been a great way to find a community and make friends. I enjoy playing in the Pep Band. Sometimes the Pep Band provides music for LGBTQ+ events. When we play at non-LGBTQ+ events, we increase our visibility and build connections with other communities.
My favorite time of the Band year is Band Camp. I love spending a whole weekend playing music in the outdoors and getting to know other people in the Band.
