I joined the Band because I wanted to connect with members of my community.
Prior to joining the San Francisco Pride Band, I was a member of DC’s Different Drummers and found music to be a meaningful way to meet friends. My husband (also in the Band) and I moved to the Bay Area and knew that the Band would satisfy our social souls. And we were right!
I played trumpet with the Band from 2007 to 2017. Since then, I switched to euphonium to quench my thirst for low and flowing melodic lines. The Band has been accommodating to me, even as I learn a new instrument. This Band is truly accessible for all music abilities.
